Scissortail Park
We are so proud of our team and their hard work to Get Stuff Built Right® on Scissortail Park in Oklahoma City! CEC provided engineering services to both the 40-acre upper and 30-acre lower park, the former opening in 2019 and the latter celebrating its grand opening in September 2022.
This unique and special project is home to the 30th Thunder Cares court, and has won local, regional and national awards (ULI Oklahoma 2020 Impact Award for Outstanding Public Initiative; ENR 2020 Best Project; APWA 2020 Structures Category Winner).
It features areas for concerts, food trucks, water features, outdoor functions, playgrounds, dog park, farmers markets, nature walks, and more. A hot spot for locals and visitors alike, the park has opened up new opportunity for growth and community in Oklahoma City.
CEC provided the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) engineering consulting services for the project, including MEP building designs for a café, boathouse, stage, pavilion structures, and a renovated room inside Union Station to serve as the main park control room.
