Tulsa Zoo Elephant Experience and Preserve
CEC provided MEP engineering consulting for the existing Elephant Experience Facility and a new Elephant Preserve Facility at the Tulsa Zoo. Updates and renovation of the Elephant Experience Facility included outdoor exhibit yard, 5,000 SF barn, and 3,200 SF interior viewing and exhibit area and exterior guest viewing. Also included was an enhanced guest experience through a new themed entrance with access to new public restrooms and additional support space. The new Elephant Preserve Facility is a state-of-the-art 35,000 SF elephant barn with a 10-acre expansive outdoor habitat which includes indoor multi-generational elephant management areas, visitors’ viewing balcony, and management staff work areas. The new facilities will create additional opportunities to promote conservation and connect guests with one of the most fascinating animals on earth.
